Some network equipment are more important than others and we would like to be able to change how much history is retained per device.
Example:
Core internet facing equipment would be nice to retain data out past 30 days to capture larger trends over time. (Did it peak the same time last month, from the same type of services?)
However, local routers and switches aren't being monitored for the same type of behavior.
