Custom property drop down list

Implemented yes, but limited.  One custom property- "City" I created necessarily ended up with a large number of entries.  After some number of entries- never did figure the "magic" number but over 100 for sure, the list reset to only those on the screen I was currently working on, all others lost.  If this limit is documented somewhere, I have not found it.

Well what I saw/see.....go to where you manage your nodes and select any node that has custom properties.  Now put a check in the check box and select to edit the properties of that node.  In the next window you will see at the upper right corner area (of the custom properties section) a link that says, "Manage Custom Properties".  You are now able to select whatever custom property you want to manipulate.  After you select the custom property, click on the "edit" button.

Now you are ready to "Restrict values" check box...and create a drop down list of values to restrict to.  This was not there before....Sorry for the long drawn out directions as I replied via Android Tablet.  Otherwise I would have provided some nice screen shots for ya.  Hope you find it ok...or email me through the forum.

I upgraded to 10.4 full release from 10.4RC3 specifically to see required fields in Add Node, but found nowhere in the custom property manager where to force this.  Was I mistaken in your response "implemented in 10.4"?

Yeah!!!!  Absolutely Brandon....how many times do we train someone on the system on how to add a node and say, "....now don't forget to type this "x" in...."  Then you pull a report or notice in the system that their is nothing entered in for an interface or node and it is blank.  Data Integrity!  Can't wait to see how this works in the system.

Very very happy to see that this is being worked on!

In addition to the drop down selectors, the fields should be able to set as optionally *Required* fields in order to save changes/create nodes.  This will not only prevent inaccurate data being populated into nodes, but not allow a user to leave the field blank when it is required for filtering on.

I have been waiting a long time for this so I am very happy to hear that its coming!

I think that one of the field types for custom properties should definitely only include pre-determined values. This would be a really useful feature, and to me, it seems like its not really that complicated to implement.    

A drop down list would be perfect.  There are 9 others on my team that enter info - its difficult to keep everything matched up.
