Am trying to connect to a DB2 V9.5 Linux server.

I've installed a v9.7fp5_nt32_odbc driver on the APM server.

On the APM server, looking at the installed drivers I see a "IBM Data Server Driver for ODBC - C:/Program Files/ibm/v9.7fp5_nt32_odbc_cli/bin"  listed.

In APM, while editting the "Database Used Space(MB)" in the Edit Application Template page, i've defined the connection string as follows (password x'd out):

Driver={IBM DATA SERVER DRIVER for ODBC - C:/Program Files/ibm/v9.7fp5_nt32_odbc_cli/bin};Database=DW;Hostname=${IP};Port=50002; Protocol=TCPIP;Uid=lxdsn;Pwd=xxxxxx;

I keep getting the following message:

Testing on node boslxdb01 (10.1.2.119): failed with 'Down' status

Data source name not found and no default driver specified.

So am wondering if I need to install a DB2 Connect client on the APM server?

Or if anyone can give me some guidance, it would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Steve

I believe your database driver should be "Driver={IBM DB2 ODBC DRIVER}

I've attached some unofficial internal documentation for installing, configuring and monitoring IBM DB2 with APM. It's likely overkill for your needs but better too much than too little. I recommend you being reading on page 13.

aLTeReGo,

thank you for the assistance and the pdf... I was thinking I could get by with just an ODBC driver, but per your document, it appears I need other pieces. I have installed the DB2 Client, and now see this "IBM DB2 ODBC DRIVER" listed in the drivers on my APM server, and I now can successfully test my template.

Thanks again,

Steve
